INFIN, the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, is the Italian research agency dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern them, under the supervision of the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR). For over two decades, INFN has been developing open innovative solutions for advanced distributed computing and software applications, which have been adopted by several international organisations and initiatives. INFIN has extensive expertise on Grid and Cloud technologies, having fostered and participated, with leadership roles, in several large EU-funded projects. In Italy, INFN was a founding member of the Italian Computing and Data Infrastructure (ICDI) and, at present, participates in several nation-wide initiatives involving science, industry and the public sector.
