In this session, members of the DICE project will present and answer questions about their work on
managing and protecting sensitive research data (such as health-related data).
Participants will hear about issues of working with sensitive data when viewed as a full cybersecurity
challenge, including threat analysis, risk assessment, and vulnerability monitoring. In addition, the
challenges of working with sensitive data in an Open Science context will be discussed.
DICE researchers will present strategies for keeping metadata freely available even while protecting the
underlying datasets. OpenAIRE researchers will present strategies for anonymising sensitive data.
Participants will also hear about the challenges of sensitive data in a context of heterogeneous
resource federation.
