Dr. Michel SCHOUPPE is Senior Expert of the European Commission and team leader on the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in the Open Science Unit of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD). Geologist by training, he got a Doctoral degree in Sciences from the University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. He joined the European Commission more than 20 years ago where he has been responsible for the management of EU research framework programmes and the development of R&I policies in the fields of Earth observation, global observing and forecasting systems, ICT for crisis management and environmental technologies for water supply and sanitation. His current field of work relates to the implementation of the Open Science agenda and FAIR data management in Europe.
