York Sure-Vetter is director at the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). His research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Prof. Sure-Vetter obtained a Diploma in industrial engineering and earned his Doctor’s degree at the University of Karlsruhe (TH). From 2007 to 2009 he was Senior Researcher at SAP AG. From 2009 to 2015 Prof. Sure-Vetter was President of the GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, the major German research infrastructure for the social sciences. In 2015 York Sure-Vetter was appointed as professor at the KIT-Institute AIFB. He was chairing the executive board of AIFB as elected spokesperson from 2015 to 2020. Since 2020 he is on leave at KIT to become the founding director at the NFDI.
